From its beginning in 1943 as a small, intrastate, Alabama trucking operation to the national, multi-service transportation company of today, Colonial logo Freight Systems, Inc., has maintained the same philosophy of innovative service at competitive prices. In 1950, operating as Colonial & Pacific Frigidways and serving the emerging frozen food industry, C. E. McBride, the company's founder, made application with the I. C. C. for transcontinental authority -- the first motor carrier application of its kind. Colonial logo now holds both contract and common carrier nationwide authority. Colonial logo grew with the rapidly expanding frozen food industry and changed to keep pace with customer needs in a competitive market. In 1987, Colonial logo introduced the Colonial logo West Division. This dry van operation utilizes primarily team drivers and operates from the East Coast to West Coast and back. Colonial logo West is, of course, separate from our Dry Van Division, which operates over irregular routes with concentration on the Eastern half of the United States.
