Founded in 1979, the activities of MONDIAL have been extended considerably in 1985 by its present shareholders and the company is now active in all ranges of shipping, transport, chartering, forwarding and logistic. With the increased demand of food aid in the developing countries, mainly in the Red Sea and East African area, MONDIAL also increased its own shipping and chartering activities under the style of ´MONDIAL MARITIME SERVICES´. Cargo for all leading aid organisations was carried. MONDIAL took its chance in 1990 to enter into the new markets with the former East Block countries by establishing own offices in Poland. On this basis a contract of more than 250.000 tons of paper from Russia for world wide distribution via Gdynia and Gdansk was awarded to MONDIAL in 1992. As from this time, MONDIAL also increased its activities to Russia and the other CIS countries. With re-opening of the traditional silk route connecting Europe with the Caucasus Republics and Central Asia via the Caspian Sea, MONDIAL decided to establish its name also in that region. In 1995 together with local partners in Georgia, own offices started operations in Batumi, Poti and Tbilisi under the style of G & M Logistic. Co.Ltd., offering complete services as port agents, stevedores, warehouse-operators and freight-forwarders for all inland-transports within the Caucasus and Central Asia.
