For your convenience, we can provide you with packing supplies Or, if you prefer, we can pack for you. Check out our Packing Tips and Moving Day Checklist to help you plan for your next move. 1. Keep boxes below 50 lbs. Overly heavy boxes are difficult to lift and may break open, causing damage. Make sure the carton is securely fastened with packing tape. Do not use masking tape. 2.Pack boxes to the top Use unprinted newspaper, if possible, to prevent ink stains to fill the carton to the top. Old cardboard is also useful. Half boxes tend to crush. 3.Mark your cartons well Identify the room where each box is to be placed in the new home. Keep in mind that when boxes are loaded on the truck, they may be packed on their sides. Watch for bottles of perfume or other items that could spill. It's a good idea to prepare a "First Day" box which contains a few dishes, soap, towels, toilet paper, toys, a lamp, drinking glasses, pop, first aid, paper towels, etc.
